The OHRC is celebrating 65 years of advancing human rights in Ontario throughout 2026 and 2027, commemorating two milestones with the establishment of the Commission on March 29, 1961, and the Ontario Human Rights Code, which was enacted on June 15, 1962.
From challenging systemic discrimination to developing inclusive policies, the Commission works to create a climate of understanding and mutual respect for the dignity and worth of each person in Ontario.
