La CODP présente régulièrement des mémoires aux divers paliers de gouvernement (provincial, fédéral et municipal) sur des lois ou des règlements qui font l'objet d'un examen.

Ces observations exposent généralement une perspective des droits de la personne à l'égard du projet de loi à l'étude. La CODP soumet également des observations à des organismes internationaux comme les Nations Unies, des commissions juridiques ou des commissions d'enquête, ou encore dans le cadre de consultations ou de projets de recherche d'autres organismes.

  1. Submission to the City of Toronto on group homes and “dwelling room accommodation” – October 22. 2013

    The Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) would like to bring several items to the attention of the Planning and Growth Management Committee as the Committee considers the Chief Planner’s reports on group homes and dwelling room accommodations at its October 22, 2013 meeting.

  2. Letter to the Toronto Police Services Board regarding the practice of carding

    Thank you for receiving the Commission’s deputation on racial profiling and carding on November 18, 2013. We understand that the Toronto Police Services Board (the TPSB”) has retained Frank Addario to provide an independent legal opinion on carding, and that he has a broad mandate to look at “the entire process of interactions between police officers and members of the public”.

  3. Submission of the Ontario Human Rights Commission to the Ministry of the Solicitor General on the proposed amendments to the segregation provisions in Regulation 778 under the Ministry of Correctional Services Act

    On August 26, 2019, Ontario’s Ministry of the Solicitor General (the Ministry) announced proposed amendments to Regulation 778 under the Ministry of Correctional Services Act. The Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) welcomes the opportunity to provide this submission on the amendments related to segregation.

  5. Joint submission to Ontario’s consultation on the 2020 budget: Necessary investments in Ontario’s correctional system

  6. OHRC submission regarding Ontario’s next Poverty Reduction Strategy

    I am writing today on behalf of the Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) about the government’s consultation on Ontario’s next Poverty Reduction Strategy (Strategy). The OHRC calls on Ontario to take a human rights-based approach to poverty reduction by entrenching the types of economic and social responses to COVID-19 into permanent solutions that will once and for all protect the well-being of everyone in our province.

  7. OHRC submission to the Ministry of Health on the proposed amendments to Ontario Regulation 329/04 made under the Personal Health Information Protection Act

    The Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) is responding to the notice of proposed amendments to Ontario Regulation 329/04 made under the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). Among other things, the proposed amendments prescribe elements for collecting, using and reporting personal health information collected through the electronic health record.
